26 Cities in 35
Days
For my second contract with Holland America I worked as a DJ. I was assigned the Voyage of the
Vikings cruise on the M.S. Massdam. We went from Boston to France and back.
Along
the way stopped at 26 ports in just 35 days. As the DJ I was given the
freedom to get off the ship at each port to sightsee.

St Pierre, France
St. Pierre is actually nowhere near France. It is actually
off the coast of Canada. It is owned by France.
St. John's Newfoundland

first trans Atlantic transmission in December of 1901. |

Nuuk, Greenland
I got off of the ship to help passengers, but did not take any pictures.
Reykjavik, Iceland
I live in San Diego and one of the prettiest days I have
ever experienced in my life was in Reykjavik.
Djupivogur, Iceland
Djupivogur is a small town of less than 500 people. Ours was the first
cruise ship to port there.
Torshavn, Faroe Islands
Stavanger, Norway
Kristiansand, Norway
Oslo, Norway
Rotterdam, The Netherlands
I was only able to get off of the ship for an hour this day.
Le
Harve, France
I was only able to get off of the ship for an hour this day.
Plymouth, England
Do to strong winds, we were not able to make it ashore in Plymouth.
Cobh,
Ireland
I had the pleasure of enjoying the Jamison Whisky experience.
Dublin, Ireland
So far one of my favorite cities in the world is Dublin, Ireland.
These photos show a bus
city tour and tour of the Guinness factory.

Crossing North of the Artic Circle
On the ship we had a "polar bear swim" in honor of crossing
north of the Artic Circle.
Seydijofordur, Iceland
Akureyri, Iceland
Isafjord, Iceland
Do to strong winds, we were not able to make it ashore into Isafjord.
Prince Christian Sound, Greenland
One of the most memorable days was passing through Prince
Christian Sound. It is kind of like going through the Grand Canyon with
glaciers and icebergs.
Qaqortoq, Greenland
This day was memorable because Barbara, a guest on the cruise, and
I hiked to the top of the highest mountain in Quaqortoq. I surmised
that I may have been one of the only Americans to have seen this view
from the top of the mountain.
St.
Anthony, Newfoundland
I took these sunrise pictures after I received an early morning
wake up call to turn off the lights I accidentally left on in the DJ
booth.
