For the most part Fishing & Hunting has been enjoyed with one or sometimes both of my closest guy friends, my father Don and Clark Binley. 

My father frequently took me fishing as a child, but we seldom caught anything except on  some very memorable deep sea fishing trips. On one trip near San Luis Obispo we caught so much we couldn't lift the bag to carry all the fish. We gave much of it away. As an early teen, my father trained me how to shoot a 300 savage, a high powered riffle. It turns out that I was quick to learn. For Christmas when I was eight years old, he got me the best toy I had as a child, a Daisy Red Rider BB Gun. Yes, this is the same BB Gun from the movie Christmas Story. By the time I began learning how to shoot the real rifle, I had already shot a BB gun several thousand times. Sometimes I would shoot aluminum cans until I had cut them half. After training me how to shoot the 300 savage, he took me hunting for wild boar in San Luis Obispo.  I was successful on two of three outings. The guide said that not only was I one of the youngest he had taken out, but the only one that used open scopes and perhaps the best shot he had seen.

In my twenties, I became a much better lake fisherman over several outings with my very close high school buddy Clark Binley. Clark and I actually met performing in the theater at Granite Hills High School. He is now a paramedic instructor for South Western College. Clark and I also enjoy deep sea fishing as well. I can remember overnight trip when we both limited in Albacore. Clark and I have also enjoyed hunting trips together and some of the pictures on this page are those of him getting a wild turkey. I was unsuccessful that trip.

Hunting
