Family & Friends are most important to me!

Family
For now this page will focus on my immediate family. Which includes my parents Don & Mary and my sisters Theresa & Celeste and their families.

In Summer 2009 we will have a family reunion for my mother's side of the family in Wixom, Michigan. From the pictures of that reunion I plan to expand this to include my extended family and as much of my father's side as possible.

Pictures Note: While building this site, I discovered that I am great at taking pictures while traveling, but not as good when doing regular activities with family and friends. The reality is, I am short of digital pictures of many people that are close to me. In the future I plan on getting better at taking those important pictures.

My Parents
In many ways my parents, Mary and Don, are opposites. My mom loves the computer, games, and TV while my father enjoys being outside with the horses, leather working, and reading. You can even say they grew up on opposite sides of the track. My mother grew up in an upper middle class family as her father, Watson Day, was the Inspector (highest non-elected official) of the Detroit Police Department. My father grew up in poverty, which included being raised in the oldest house in Detroit when he was not in state child care institutions. As a teenager his relatives had mafia connections with direct ties to Jimmy Hoffa.

Despite differences, their love has stood the test of time and has endured in sickness and in health, in prosperity and in financial struggles. In the early 70's my father became the only individual we know of to to struggle through and recover from A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig's Disease). In the 80's, when half of my friends parents were getting divorced, my parents stood by each other through tough financial times, which included the repossession of an investment property. In the late 80's and early 90's they had to live apart for months at a time as my father took a job with the State of California as a correctional officer and later a parole agent.

Through it all, they stuck together and made it to retirement. They now frequently volunteer and take road trips exploring the country.

The Saxers
My youngest sister Celeste married her high school sweetheart Ron Saxer. They live in Santee, CA with there two sons, Kenny and Mark.

Celeste is a microbiologist for Grossmont Hospital. Recently she has been working limited hours while she has been successful battling MS. Her husband Ron is a computer genius. Ron volunteered after the Katrina disaster in New Orleans to set up a database to help families relocate lost animals.

Both Mark and Kenny are very much involved in Boy Scouts. Kenny has already completed his community service project to earn his Eagle Scout. Kenny is also loves to read and his involved in cross country running and completes in pole vault on the track and field team at West Hills high school. Mark, the youngest of my nephews, loves taking Nerf guns apart and rebuilding them with reinforced stronger springs so they shoot farther. Mark also enjoys playing baseball and soccer. Neither Kenny nor Mark have ever missed a single day of school. I find that admirable, however I may have to buy them Ferris Bueller's Day Off for Christmas this year.

The Jacksons
My eldest sister Theresa married her UCLA college sweetheart Blaise Jackson. They live in Escondido, CA. with their two sons, Sanford and Brendan.

Theresa is a graphic designer who in recently left Upper Deck to work for herself. She now has several clients and is enjoying the independence of self-employment. Her husband Blaise is a lawyer; but don't worry, he is a great guy.

Their sons, Sanford and Brendan, are both very much involved at Orange Glen high school. Like Kenny, Sanford is also completes in pole vault.  Sanford's other interests include drama and video production. Together he and I formed Sandan Productions and have made two short films.  Both Sanford and Brendan are on their high school Academic Team.  Brendan also plays golf and despite being less than 5-feet tall he was the most prolific 3-point shooter on the freshman basketball team.
