There are multiple purposes for having a Body-for-Life
section of my web site.
- Motivating Myself - Posting pictures here
regularly will help track my progress and keep me on track
with my fitness goals.
- Acting Marketing - This will become a
place where agents and casting directors can see the most
current pictures of me and verify that I am truly in shape,
thus resembling the head shots that I use as an actor to
market myself.
- Motivating Others. I know that I am not alone in
my struggle to stay fit. I also know without question
that Body-for-Life works for me and that if you struggle
with your weight, perhaps it will work for you. Thus,
I have included everything that you need to succeed in the
Exercise-for-Life and Eating-for-Life links for you to get
started on your Body-for-Life journey.
Dan's 12 Week Body-for-Life Journey!
March 3 through May 23, 2008
My before and after pictures from my latest 12-week Body-for-Life program
are posted on this page.
I say "latest" because I have completed this program twice
before. My weight has fluctuated throughout my life, as those that have known me since I
was teenager will testify. I am disappointed in myself that as of March
of 2008 I had once again allowed myself to get out of
shape.
Despite the fact that there are a lot of good things
happening in my life, such as my relationship with my girlfriend
Abby (we just celebrated our one-year anniversary), there are
other things in my life that had become a source of frustration.
Namely, that despite getting excellent evaluations, weeks had
turned into months without getting an assignment from my
employer. This has left my career status very
uncertain.
In the meantime, I have moved in with Abby and away from my
local
gym. I had allowed old bad habits to take over. The
results were predictable: I gained weight and became even more
frustrated and somewhat depressed.
In the beginning of March, as my new extra weight caused
sitting in a movie theater to be uncomfortable, I came to a
mental snapping point. The next Monday I started things off by jogging
in the morning followed by visiting and
joining a new gym that afternoon. With this I had mentally
re-committed myself to the Body-for-Life program because it had
worked for me in the past and I new it would work again.
In the next 12 weeks I did not miss a single workout and
I ate according to the plan. The results are not only evident in
pictures, but I soon found the happier me that everyone
knows and loves. I also found new goals to focus on. One
of those goals was the creation of this entire web site, not
just the Body-for-Life section.
